Mediterranean Autumn
A softer season in the south

There is a particular moment on the Mediterranean when summer begins to soften, but hasn't quite disappeared.
September arrives, yet the days remain warm. The sea is still inviting, lunches are still eaten outside, and summer clothes haven't been put away. But the mornings are cooler, the light is gentler, and the landscape begins to take on the warmer tones of autumn.
It is a season I had experienced here before, but never really paid attention to.
Perhaps because we tend to think of seasons as having clear beginnings and endings. Summer finishes, autumn starts, and we dress accordingly. On the Mediterranean, that line feels much less defined.
My new collection, Mediterranean Autumn, was created for this in-between.

I wanted the collection to feel appropriate for September and the months that follow without suddenly becoming heavy. Linen and viscose remain at its centre, but summer's bare shoulders give way to long sleeves, fluid trousers and fuller silhouettes.
The collection is almost entirely white, which might seem an unusual choice for autumn.
But here, it made sense.
White against sun-warmed stone, mediterranean trees and an increasingly earthy landscape feels different from white in the height of summer. It becomes softer and quieter, while still holding onto something of the season before.

We photographed the collection in Èze Village, perched above the Mediterranean between Nice and Monaco.
Its narrow stone streets, old façades and views over the sea felt like a natural setting for the collection. In Eze, everything seems to have been shaped gradually, by time, weather and the people who have passed through it.
That contrast became one of my favourite things about the images: crisp white fabric against centuries-old stone, romantic silhouettes against something much more raw and weathered.
It also reflects the way I want Pipa Rose to evolve.
Not by reinventing itself with every season, but by allowing one collection to lead naturally into the next.
